Dual Enrollment Orientation for Students and Parents

During Orientation, Students & Parents will:

• Learn more about the college setting, classes, and become more familiar with the resources available to all HGTC students.
• Get technology support on how to navigate myHGTC, D2L, and the student's college email account.
• Learn more regarding course expectations, helpful tips, and have additional questions answered.

2026-2027 Orientation

In-Person Orientation Date for Spring 2027                                      

Orientation will begin promptly at the time listed. Registration will open 1 hour prior to the presentation. Large crowds are anticipated, so please come early.

Online Orientation

In addition to attending one of the in-person orientation sessions, all new dual enrollment students should also complete the online Orientation found in the Student Portal. When you log into your myHGTC account, please click on the Orientation Card to begin.

Prior to the first day of class, students will need to:

• Ensure they have received their HGTC Acceptance Packet containing their student H# and myHGTC username and password. If you have not received this packet, please email pace@hgtc.edu to check your application status.
• Call 843-349-TECH (8324) and follow the prompts if they are having technical issues logging into their myHGTC account.
• Submit the FAFSA Waiver and SC•WINS Affidavit forms each academic year in the Student Portal.
• Purchase textbooks/access codes at the campus bookstore if they are not being provided by their high school. If you are unsure, please contact your school counselor.
• Upload a photo for their free HGTC student ID card. ID cards are required for specific services on campus and student engagement activities.
• Obtain their free HGTC parking decal. Students must bring their vehicle registration card, driver’s license, student ID card, and a copy of their current semester schedule from myHGTC (online or printed) to obtain a decal.
