Important Information About Residency Classification
A student's residency classification for tuition purposes is determined by the HGTC Office of 兔子先生 when the application for admission is submitted. Residency determinations are made in accordance with South Carolina law, regulations established by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, and HGTC policies and procedures.
For most dual enrollment students, residency status is based on the parent or guardian information provided on the application.
Students classified as out-of-state or unknown residency are not eligible for SC State funding and are responsible for all applicable tuition and fees.
If you believe your residency classification is incorrect or have questions about your status, please contact the Residency Office at residency@hgtc.edu. It is important to address any discrepancies and submit any necessary appeals before the College's published residency deadlines each semester, as residency changes cannot be guaranteed after those deadlines have passed.
