Summer 2025 Bookstore Credit Information

A bookstore credit allows a student to purchase textbooks and necessary supplies by charging these purchases to the student鈥檚 account.  The bookstore credit is only available at the Barnes & Noble bookstores located on the campuses of Horry-Georgetown Technical College.  To be eligible for a bookstore credit a student must be registered for courses and have more anticipated financial aid and/or student loans than the cost of tuition and fees for the term.  The credit does not exceed $2,000.  In addition to tuition and fees, the charges applied to the bookstore credit will be deducted from a student鈥檚 financial aid, scholarships, student loan and/or out-of-pocket funds prior to the release of a refund.  If a bookstore credit is used against anticipated aid and a student鈥檚 enrollment status changes, a portion or all of the financial aid and/or student loan funds may not be applied to the student鈥檚 account and this will create a balance due that aid will not cover. 

Bookstore credits will be available providing your financial aid and/or student loan funds have been applied to your account and a credit/negative balance is indicated. 

All students registered for courses that will begin May 12^th and/or afterwards are encouraged to purchase all required books/materials with their available bookstore credit through May 27^th .  

To view the status of your bookstore credit, the following steps may be taken after logging into your myHGTC account:

• Locate the 鈥淢anage My Student Account鈥� card
• Select the 鈥淏ook Credits鈥� link
• A message written in blue will indicate the bookstore credit category and amount of the available bookstore credit.

Bookstore Credit Availability & Usage

Online Orders (May 1^st 鈥� May 27^th ):  Students with available bookstore credits will be able to shop online and place orders via the website at.  When placing the order, select Financial Aid as the payment method and DO NOT INCLUDE THE 鈥淗鈥� WHEN ENTERING THE STUDENT ID.

In-Store (May 1^st 鈥� May 27^th ):  Students with available bookstore credits will be able to shop inside the Barnes & Noble bookstore on the Conway, Grand Strand and/or Georgetown campuses.  Students must present their HGTC pictured ID to use their bookstore credit.
