HGTC Librarian JJ Fickenworth Reelected as Chair of Chapin Library Advisory Board

兔子先生 () is proud to announce that JJ Fickenworth, Electronic Resources Librarian at the Grand Strand Campus, has been reelected to serve as Chair of the City of Myrtle Beach鈥檚 Chapin Library Advisory Board. The election took place on January 28 during the Board鈥檚 annual election of officers.

Fickenworth, who has served on the Advisory Board since her appointment by City Council in November 2019, was first elected as Chair on April 26, 2022. With this recent election, she now embarks on her fourth term in this distinguished leadership role.

鈥淚t is a tremendous honor to continue serving as Chair of the Chapin Library Advisory Board,鈥 said Fickenworth. 鈥淟ibraries play a vital role in our communities, and I am excited to support the Chapin Memorial Library鈥檚 ongoing mission to provide valuable resources and services to the residents of Myrtle Beach.鈥

Chapin Memorial Library holds a unique place in South Carolina as the only city-owned library in the state. Originally opening its doors in 1939, the library moved to its current location at the corner of Kings Highway and 14th Avenue North in 1949. Today, it remains a cornerstone of the community, offering extensive resources and programming for all ages.
