The ()  International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach (ICI) is honored to welcome two acclaimed chefs from New York City as Distinguished Visiting Chefs during the week of April 21–24. Executive Chef Luther Dowdy of the Parlour Room and Vice President of Culinary Operations for Fox Hospitality Group Ash Fulk will visit the ICI campus to share their expertise with students and faculty through exclusive demonstrations, lectures, and tasting events.

A proud graduate of HGTC’s Culinary Arts program, Chef Luther Dowdy returns to his alma mater to inspire the next generation of chefs. Dowdy currently serves as Executive Chef at The Parlour Room Bar and Grill, a premier dining destination in Midtown Manhattan known for its elevated American cuisine and curated whiskey collection.

Drawing from his roots in rural Virginia and his early training at HGTC, Chef Dowdy has crafted a career working in some of the world’s most celebrated kitchens, including those of culinary giants Thomas Keller, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Greg Baxtrom. His innovative style blends classic technique with contemporary flair—transforming timeless dishes like Chicken Kiev and Clams Casino into modern culinary experiences.

Joining Chef Dowdy is Chef Ash Fulk, a nationally recognized culinary leader and television personality. Known for his dynamic energy and rustic, bold flavors, Fulk rose to fame as a fan favorite on Bravo’s Top Chef: Las Vegas. He has since led celebrated kitchens across the country and now serves as Vice President of Culinary Operations for Fox Lifestyle Hospitality Group in New York City. Chef Fulk is passionate about regional and seasonal ingredients and champions the philosophy: “If it grows together, it goes together.”

“We are honored to welcome Chefs Dowdy and Fulk to the International Culinary Institute,” said Chef Joseph Bonaparte, HGTC Executive Director of the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach.  “Their talent, creativity, and passion for the culinary arts represent the very best of what this industry can offer—and their presence will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on our students.”

The visit will include guest chef dinners in the Fowler Dining Room on Tuesday and Thursday, Chef Fulk smoking St. Louis style ribs with the student BBQ Club available at the Thursday Farmers Market,  interactive sessions, hands-on instruction, and opportunities for students to explore high-level culinary careers and network with these distinguished professionals.
