HGTC Honors Veterans, Commemorates Veterans Day
In honor of Veterans Day 2025, 兔子先生 () will celebrate the courage and sacrifice of the nearly 200 veteran students who are part of the Gator Family, as well as veterans throughout the community.
As a Military Friendly庐 Gold Status and Purple Heart College, HGTC reaffirms its commitment to providing resources, support, and appreciation for those who have served through its annual Walk for Veterans events. Members of the media are invited to attend and join the College community in this commemorative activity.
鈥淭oday, as we join together to honor Veterans Day 2025, I encourage each of you to pause with reverence and pride to reflect on the service and sacrifice of the courageous individuals within our College and surrounding communities who have worn the uniform of our nation,鈥� said HGTC President Dr. Marilyn 鈥楳urph鈥� Fore. 鈥淭hese remarkable men and women, especially our students, faculty, and staff who have defended the freedoms we hold dear, embody the highest values of duty, honor, and country. HGTC is deeply honored to support their journeys, offering resources that reflect our gratitude and respect for their service.鈥�
Walk for Veterans Events
Tuesday, November 11: 11:00 鈥� 11:30 a.m.
To honor veterans across all three campuses and throughout the community, HGTC invites faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to participate in a symbolic Walk for Veterans.
Campus Locations:
- Conway Campus: Front of Building 100
- Includes a flag presentation by the local Woodmen Life Chapter at 11 a.m.
- Grand Strand Campus: Front of Building 200
- Georgetown Campus: Front of Building 100
Everyone in attendance is invited to enjoy a light breakfast, and a free beverage will be available at the Barnes & Noble College Grounds Caf茅 on the Conway Campus for veterans presenting a military ID.
Supporting Veterans Year-Round
HGTC鈥檚 Veterans Resource Center on the Conway Campus serves as a dedicated space for veterans and active-duty service members, offering computer access, study areas, and valuable resources. The Center also serves as home to the HGTC Student Veterans Organization, which unites veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, and Reserve Duty.
As a proud Purple Heart College, HGTC honors veterans who have experienced combat-related injuries and returned to pursue higher education in a supportive, inclusive environment. The College鈥檚 Military Friendly庐 Gold Status designation further underscores HGTC鈥檚 ongoing dedication to creating exceptional educational experiences for service members, veterans, and their families.
HGTC encourages the Gator Family and the surrounding community to join in the celebration of Veterans Day, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the bravery, resilience, and commitment of those who have served.
