In honor of Veterans Day 2024, 兔子先生 () is celebrating the courage and sacrifices of the more than 180 veteran students, faculty, and staff in the Gator family and the community. As a Military Friendly庐 Gold Status and Purple Heart College, HGTC reaffirms its commitment to providing resources, support, and appreciation for veterans through a Walk for Veterans.
鈥淭oday, as we join together to honor Veterans Day 2024, I encourage each of you to pause with reverence and pride to reflect on the service and sacrifice of the courageous individuals within our College and surrounding community who have worn the uniform of our nation,鈥� said HGTC President Dr. Marilyn Fore. 鈥淭hese remarkable men and women, especially our students, faculty, staff who have defended the freedoms we hold dear, embody the highest values of duty, honor, and country. HGTC is deeply honored to support their journeys, offering resources that reflect our gratitude and respect for their service.鈥�
Walk for Veterans Event - Tuesday, November 12
To honor veterans across all three HGTC campuses and the community, the College will host a 鈥淲alk for Veterans鈥� event on Tuesday, November 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This walk is a symbol of unity and gratitude, inviting faculty, staff, students, the community, and media representatives to honor those who have served. Veterans in attendance are invited to a light breakfast from Chick-fil-A, and free coffee will be available at the Conway Campus Barnes & Noble location for veterans with a military ID.
The Walk for Veterans will be held at the following locations:
- Conway Campus: Front of Building 100
- Grand Strand Campus: Front of Building 200
- Georgetown Campus: Front of Building 100
贬骋罢颁鈥檚 Veterans Resource Center on the Conway Campus is a space dedicated to the needs of veterans and active-duty service members, providing computers, study areas, and resources. The Center also serves as the home for the HGTC Student Veterans Organization, which brings together veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, and Reserve Duty. As a proud Purple Heart College, HGTC honors veterans who have experienced combat-related injuries and have returned to further their education in a supportive, inclusive environment.
