HGTC Georgetown Center for Advanced Manufacturing Enters Second Year of Serving Students
兔子先生 (HGTC) is entering its second year of instruction
at the brand new Georgetown Center for Advanced Manufacturing (GCAM) located on South
Fraser Street in Georgetown. Last year, HGTC opened the doors of its 30,000-square-foot
Center for Advanced Manufacturing on its Georgetown Campus to students during the
fall semester. The state-of-the-art facility was built in response to unprecedented
industry demands for skilled workers in Georgetown County and throughout South Carolina.
鈥淲e are thankful for the partnerships of business and industry in the planning, development, and support of our state-of-the-art building. The programs housed within are tailored especially for local businesses and their employees,鈥 said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President.
HGTC continues to train students, employees, and skilled workers in advanced welding technologies, machine tool technology, computer numerical control and mechatronics technology programs.
Graduates from these programs will be qualified for industry certifications and equipped to enter the workforce with the technical and soft skills essential for success in today鈥檚 increasingly competitive world.
鈥淭he pandemic may have limited our ability to interact with our industry partners to the level we have in the past, but we are open and offering classes to serve the training and retraining needs of employees,鈥 said Brandon Haselden, HGTC Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs.
鈥淭he expectations of our students are as high as ever when meeting the needs of industry for highly skilled positions,鈥 President Fore added. 鈥淲e are ready to enroll students and look forward to serving this academic year.鈥
HGTC has invited the entire community to an Open House on Wednesday, September 2 at 6 p.m. at GCAM.
