HGTC Now Offering Customer Service Certificate

Flexible program offering designed to meet local workforce needs.

(Conway, SC) 06/18/2019

兔子先生 (HGTC) will offer a Customer Service Specialist Certificate beginning this fall. The certificate program, housed in HGTC鈥檚 business department, was created to meet growing industry need for qualified customer service representatives.

鈥淚n the competitive world of travel and tourism, outstanding service can set a business or destination apart in a crowded field,鈥 said Jeffrey Wisniewski, events and membership programs manager for the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association. 鈥淏y educating students in the art of customer service and the importance of exceeding guests鈥 expectations, HGTC is making positive strides for the future of the hospitality industry and we applaud the implementation of this new program.鈥

Students will have the flexibility of completing the program in one to three semesters, and will have the option of taking a combination of online and in-person classes or taking all of their classes online.

鈥淏ecause so many of our business students are working while they鈥檙e going back to school, we knew flexibility would be key in developing this certificate,鈥 said business program chair and professor Theresa Strong. 鈥淭his program will allow employees in all fields, whether its banking, hotels, restaurants, medical offices, or government agencies, to hone their customer service skills and advance their careers.鈥

Customer service students will gain a background in basic business, management, and marketing fundamentals, all with an emphasis on the customer service aspect of the industry.  Students may apply the credits earned in the certificate toward completion of HGTC鈥檚  Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration degree.

Fall classes begin August 26, and financial aid and scholarships are available.
